Man, I’m really tired. I think a part of it is the lingering notion that it might be time for me to step out of my comfort zone and start exploring programming in a serious way, either by learning javascript or python, and maybe trying to do something career-wise with it. I dunno. I’ve heard, and seen, that javascript is a complete fucking mess. Python is pretty awesome, but I’ve just never spent any significant amount of time messing with it.

It’s true, God is dead. He was absolutely fucking slaughtered by rational inquiry. That’s okay. I bet it happens to nearly every species that attains sentience. Surely we can’t be alone in experiencing this, the universe is far too large for that to be the case.

I suppose the most important take-away here is that God never existed in the first place, at least not as an omnipotent sky-wizard. He existed as a literary figure that helped us to explain why we’re here and the world around us. There really is no purpose to him anymore, so it’s time we retired this “God” person, as the people who still cling to his existence are destroying society and- honestly -they’re destroying the planet as well. So that’s that, we can wrap it up now. God is dead, and he ain’t coming back. No “return of Jesus”. Do not pass “go”. Do not collect $200. God is dead.

Seems like it happens every time. It happened the last time I set up Wordpress. The ease of posting to my blog seems to generate an inverse relationship with my post frequency. I’ll post a ton at first, and then my posts taper down to nothing, sometimes going whole months without even so much as a dead man’s switch. It’s alright, though. Honestly, the times through the day that I feel most compelled to write are when I’m bored. That usually is at work, but it hasn’t been lately, to be honest. Lately I’ve been finding things to do that are work related if I’m bored, which I guess is a good thing. I dunno. We’ll see how long it lasts, though.

I had planned to write a different post, but honestly- This is what I really wanted to do with a post. I’m going to expose religious zealots for what they are. Rapists.

Went out drinking with work friends the other night. Completely made an ass of myself and threw up in a beer glass. Well, mostly. The portions that didn’t make it into the beer glass made it on my pants, then the floor. Damn. I’m too fucking old. I used to be able to hang, but it seems like old age is finally ripping into me. That shit goes deep, too. Down to the bones, so it seems.

Man, I feel like I’m getting way too old. Went out drinking with friends last night, wound up drinking way too much and making an ass of myself in pretty much every way conceivable. Even threw up in an empty beer glass. Got some on my pants. Just not a great sight all around. Had to call in sick at work because there’s no way I’m making it into the office in this condition. I’m barely alright remaining vertical long enough to bang out this post. Blegh.

Jesus fucking Christ. OK, so I’ve fixed my implementation of the “Even” theme. Turns out, as most problems do, it boiled down to “PEBKAC”. That’s right- Problem exists between keyboard and chair.

So, in my infinite wisdom, I had adjusted my config.toml to use language codes as most folks know them: "en-US". Right? Riiiiight?

In Hugo world, or at least this template’s build, languages are just “en” or “es” or whatever the fuck you speak.
