Redneck Rebellion

If you haven’t seen the latest news, it looks like Donald Trump is in a bit of hot water with treating national secrets like they’re his own fucking personal playground. The absolute nerve of this rich piece of shit. What a fucking twat of a human being. He treated the executive office like a goddamn urinal. Him and his few pals, Rudy Giuliani and the rest of the crime syndicate, just shitting on the oath of office and every goddamn oath each had taken. What absolute garbage human beings. I fucking despise privileged little pieces of shit like Donald Trump, never knowing in his 70-odd years of existence what it’s fucking like to actually work hard. God damn, and this asshole is going to tell me that taxing people like him fairly will make them “go away” and everyone will be poor and starving with no billionaires to drop crumbs for them to eat. Fuck you. Fuck you so fucking much for saying such stupid fucking bullshit. Jesus. Fucking. Christ. No one worth a damn buys that bullshit.

Kiwi Farms and the Future of the Internet

First and foremost, I’ll say right off the bat that I do not condone targeted mass hate campaigns against individuals or groups. I personally condemn that activity across the board no matter the victim or antagonist in any conflict, for any reason. That said, there’s a terrifying precedent being set currently that’s going to enable certain groups to change the world in ways previously not possible.

First, we need to identify how speech is protected on the internet. Currently there are no laws on any books anywhere that guarantee a person has access to the internet. There are also no laws explicitly stating that a company has to, in good faith, do business with everyone who approaches them for service regardless of who they are or what they believe. There are no laws regulating platforms on the internet that ensure every individual has equal access or ability to use them. There are no laws protecting forms of speech on the internet uniformly. There aren’t any real protections in place anywhere in federal regulatory bodies or federal or state governments on the whole. You can fall back to the first amendment, but the first amendment says fuck all about corporations being required to propagate your ideas. There are no such protections in place.

Trugreen Chemlawn Complete Is Trash

If you ever decide to “improve” your lawn and sign up to Trugreen Chemlawn Complete you can pretty much count on this being the result after four months:

Just look at that beautiful series of images. Man, they really demonstrated the “Tailored Solutions” and “Science-Driven Expertise”, don’t you think? But they’ll take you for thousands of dollars to do nothing. The proof is in the images. They come out seemingly all the time and yet nothing improves. The weeds stay as thick and huge as they are. The bald spots are unchanging. It’s easily just the worst lawn service you can sign up for, you’re literally better off doing it yourself and saving a ton of cash. These jackasses are useless. Trugreen Chemlawn is basically just a trash can for you to throw $1,500 into. What a scam.

Random Ass Words

Man, I love this blog setup. I love git. I love MacOS. It feels weird to say that, but I really do enjoy the Mach underpinnings and Unix environment, combined with an easy and native feeling GUI. I don’t know why, but window managers on Linux just don’t feel native. I’m not sure if that’s just a mind trick from how much choice is out there or what, but I think a lot of it stems from how wildly different each toolkit is from any other. For instance, if you’re running a Gnome desktop and you try to run KDE/Qt apps. It’s not as bad now as it used to be, you can get reasonable approximations to suit. But it used to be really bad.

Fuck Republicans Completely, Entirely

I’ve been biting my tongue and refraining from commenting for long enough, but it’s spilling over and I can’t hold it back any longer. I need to comment on the rift between Democrats and Republicans, and I need to write as objectively as possible. Don’t think for a second, though, that my intent to write objectively prevents me from taking sides. That is not the case, as there is massive wrongdoing here. Not subjective, we’re talking objective wrongdoing. Here goes.

Design Language

I think I get it now. I think I understand why I really don’t like iPhone but very much so enjoy Apple’s computers. Their phones are designed for everyone, so they’re un-customizable bricks that they design “with any idiot in mind”, whereas Apple takes more of a “intuitive but also POSIX” approach with their desktop and laptop operating system. It’s essentially the notion that everyone needs a phone, not everyone feels they need a computer. At least, that’s how it comes off to me. You can customize MacOS pretty decently, even replacing the dock and other major OS components. You can’t really customize iOS all that much, certainly nowhere near as much as you can Android. Tell me if I’m off base with this, but that’s just the way it seems to me.
